The temps on the peak this morning were delightfully warm as the first Tram hit the peak. Mineral Basin was calling with nicely prepared Groomers that really let you trust the edge and leave some clean lacerations in the corduroy. There was a lot of early pressure for the goods back there and I bailed back to the Peruvian Gulch to take advantage of the vacant runs on that side of the hill. It is so much fun to have the open lines to yourself and really explore your inner Ligety.
The warm temps softened the direct aspects quickly, but I was going to wait till later to make a return lap. Mark Malu was offering very nice lines that had the full roller coaster feel with light traffic and consistent terrain transitions. So much fun!! Tomorrow, look for more warm temps, and smooth lines to be on tap. A high cloud deck moved in later in the afternoon, so there may be a bit of cloud cover. We’ll have to see how this approaching weather comes in. It would be fun to get some wind to fill some of the lines with that transported goodness.
Be sure to employ your best visualization techniques to bring in a big dump with this next change in the weather. It can work wonders. See you there dark and early for the morning shred fest!! Keep it tight!!
