It was sunny, clear and cold, with a stout East wind blowing, which was moving the product around on the ground, filling in the lows and making the prepared lines feel wonderful. Mineral Basin was calling, but the Peruvian Gulch was being ignored, so I took advantage of the wide open lines, which were covered with a light dusting from an early morning impulse that exited as the day began. The snow guns were blazing top to bottom in the very cold temps, offering untracked Gun Powder that insisted on a slow approach and deep feeling set of turns to extract as much soft elegant quality as could be absorbed. A couple of runs of that was a serious treat in total solitary.
Traffic was light and back to back Trams were easy to make. Work was still being done on the Road to Provo, so I’ll be keeping and eye out for a possible opening in the near future. We’ll see. Tomorrow, look for more cold temps and sunshine in the AM. Mineral Basin is still holding soft dry pack with a still smooth substrate. Now is the time to take advantage of the break in the push to get some relaxed turns all day long. The Groomers will still be providing smooth lines, and the snowmaking will still be happening, so look for those long sections of untracked Gun Powder in the AM. See you there for the morning explorations. Syrup Won’t Stop ‘EM!!!
