The day was clear with blue skies to greet the faithful who showed up to get the goods this morning. The previously unopened areas opened up and provided some very nice lines, which were attested to by the Powder Shots that were put up on Face Book. The Groomers were providing ultra carvelicious carpets that were a nice counter point to the perfect off trail untracked. It was cool to have different types of perfect, side by side, that you could A B to ascertain which kind of perfect you liked best. I bet it was hard to tell when the fun meter was pegged on 11. The crowd was spread out over the hill, making the waits for the uphill ride short or non existent once the folks got spread out over the hill. Mineral Basin was the big draw and the line on the lift was large, but the goods back there were worth the wait. Warmer temps were a treat after dealing with the wind blast of the past few days of storm riding. Tomorrow, look for another day of really great sliding, with the off trail still offering soft lines and good access to some of the previously difficult entries. The Groomers will be offering some very luxurious corduroy for the morning session, and be sure to check the grooming list for interesting lines in Mineral and the Lower front side of the hill, as well as some of the usual go to fun zones. Sun and fun are on tap for the next few days as the high pressure builds in, so enjoy the nice weather and snow before the BIG GAME. The traffic may be a bit lighter in anticipation of the festivities, but the up hill capacity will handle the heat. Here is a shot of a frosted over upper mountain with the top tower looking unusually frosty. Stay Frosty!!!
