I went up to take in the Oktoberfest vibrations today.  The crowd was really thronging  when I got there, with a great band over on Chickadee and the German folk music going on over in the big tent.  It was very festive indeed, with all sorts of choices for beer all over the place.  Here is a shot of the Mountain Coaster with the launch section sending a thrill seeker to the top.  I also got a chance to run into folks I haven’t seen is some time, as the Summer takes me far from the hill most of the time.  Here is a shot of Julia just after her top to bottom run down the Single Track Mountain Bike Trail.  The word is that it is shaping up nicely with all the traffic.  Here is a shot of the beautiful Ms COOL, who was taking care of the folks there at the Birdfeeder.  She is a great artist and it is always such a treat to speak to her about her painting.  I took a Tram ride to see how things are coming along on the Peak.  They are moving along rapidly with the foundation work, and the steel is now staged up for when the concrete is done.  This is going to be a very cool structure and will not impede the traffic flow on the peak at all.  While I was snapping off this shot I could not help but see this kind of Non Sequitur shot of this mondo Cat excavator arm framed in front of the Twins.  Just had to share it.  The air was very clear today, and you could see the Lake clearly way out between the Mountain ridge lines.  I took this shot of the range down to the west with the big head walls looking very stark and severe.  The festivities will begin all over again next weekend so be sure to get up there for the fun and great food and drink.  Lots of music is happening  as well, so there is no shortage of events to take in.  Get there a bit early to get good parking.   Ciao!!
