AUGUST HEAT

8-23-20

Greetings from the High Desert, were the heat is really kickin’ it up and keeping me close to the stream for relief. The world is still turning and the time slide into Winter is picking up speed. I made a visit back to the front to reconnect with the Mountain and many of the folks I have been missing. I took a trip up to The Bird and rode the Tram to the Peak to get a full dose of the Teluric Energy blasting out of the Summit.

Still some lingering snow from last season hiding in the North aspects.
It was a clear day with a great view of the Great Salt Lake and the West Desert so far in the distance.

I stopped by and visited with The Chef and checked out his garden, which is going gang busters and already producing the good stuff.

The Chef’s garden in full effect. Nothing like fresh vegies from the Earth.

Wynonna sent this amazing shot from her trip down the Canyon after a hike to Hidden Peak. The sky was filled with smoke from the current fires to the West.

The Sun defracting in the high altitude smoke layer, with the Blue sky peaking out above.

Folks have been keeping in touch with me, reflecting back to the good times we shared last season. I met John and Christine Horrocks from New Zealand last season and we spent a while rockin’ around the hill. Here are two shots they sent from the other side of the world where they are getting the goods. I sure enjoyed my time with them and sharing the stoke and the turns.

Christine digging in and getting all of that dry chalky snow!
This shot reminds me of the Winter inversion. Check out those sweet lines in the distance. Christine ready to dial in a smooth line.

The wild days of weather and other assorted anomalies sure get your attention. Jake sent me this amazing shot from Maine, where the sky was doing some tricks just to keep things interesting.

Jakes’ boat moored and happy as the sky dances with color.

I will be beginning my Winter Visualizations for the season, which will include deep powder face shots, a healthy atmosphere and the return of all the great friends and times that await. Stay cool in the heat. And as Joe Man The Snow Man says, “Don’t skimp on the Groove Sauce”!!!

TIME FLOW

7-06-20

Greetings from the High Desert, where I am continuing my sequestering in the natural surroundings. I have been pondering the times we are in and reflecting on the flow of time, where in certain cases, time seems to move rapidly like a creek in steep high water situation, then, at other times, seems to move slowly in lower tranquil areas of the flow.

Frozen Essence caught in a moment of NOW

I have been contemplating the Moment of Now more and more as, here, the the flow of Time seems to move more slowly. I find it similar to the mountain experience where we move with the flow of time in a linear sense, but when we move into the Vertical axis of the fall line, Time seems to move much faster or can seem to stop with attention focused in the critical movement.

Brian Beck slotted in the fall line, with visibility Zero

Sometimes, the visibility in the fall line is highly obscured and one has to use inner vision and stillness to negotiate the uncertainty of the NOW. These days are much like this situation. Stopping Time and staying firmly in the flow at the same time, however, knowing that a reemergence to full visibility is just a moment away.

Cosmic Signs in the sky

This image, which my friend Jake sent me, indicate a very positive vision as we move on the vertical axis, where time seems to move so slowly it almost stops. Certainty in the line is imperative, and I will be holding this visualization going forward. I will be making my way back to the Front to visit the Mountain and will post with some images of the hill. Stay Frosty!!

SUMMIT PERSPECTIVE

5-20-20

Greetings from the High Desert, where I have been sequestered during these unusual days. During the days of solitude, I have been sending my memory back to those days where I took some extra time to just BE on the peak and look out around the compass to take in the summit perspective.

The daily life going on in the Valley is a hustle and bustle, that, from this vantage point, cannot readily be seen. There all our everyday lives are, home.

From The Summit, reflecting on the paths that can be taken on descent, and the awareness that we bring with us as we return to the lower elevations is a treasure that we only really realize when we hold those perspectives in mind. This past season, there were so many vistas that spoke to me, which seemed to relate some sense that there was something to which I should pay attention, so I did on many occasions, and soaked in the NOW.

A portal looking into the 5D reality that is dawning on the world in these days.

As I have been walking and Being, I have noticed that the resolution of the surroundings are in ultra high relief, with a clarity that I have perceived everywhere I look. As we move into the coming days, I will continue to be looking for the signs of a new presence of mind and vision. When we get back to The Mountain, I think we all will see it with a much clearer, and present perception. I look forward to the coming back to partake of the Summer visits. See the Line, BE the Line!!

CYCLE RETURN

4-28-20

The pack has been holding tough right up to this point, but the heat is on and an High Pressure is setting up, which will bring very hot days in the next while. This is part of the big return cycle as the pack returns from whence it came. Here is a shot of my good friend Kevin standing next to one of the premier lines in White Pine. It is very hard to find, and rarely workable. I have been there many times over the years and it is a magical place.

Old Boy standing next to the flow as the pack returns so it can come back next season.

A couple weeks ago, I visited The Chef and was checking out his garden which was already busting out of the ground. It is great to touch base and see how the plants reach for the sky.

I was avoiding some bees who were trying to get to the water bath for a drink.

I am now located in the High Desert while all the World weirdness is going on, and finding Center and Balance away from the fray. Here is a shot from a little walk looking back to the Desert floor.

It is a long way from nowhere and it is perfect for perspective and appreciation of Nature and the Flow of TIME.

I’ll be keeping tabs on the happenings on the hill and will keep posting as the World begins to spin back in to gear. Be safe, Be Happy, and Don’t Skimp On The Groove Sauce!!

SOOOO SMOOTH

4-12-20

Now about a month into the Twilight Zone, Spring is in full swing with nice warm days and cool nights. A fast moving impulse moved through last night and watered the flowers. Up on the hill, the long absence of The Faithful has left the hill in incredible condition, with a mountain smooth on all aspects and a very rare sight indeed. Neil and Jake sent these shots of the hill with no interference patterns, no rumble, and a surface of which dreams are made .

Neil sent this shot that sets the tone for tranquility and peace in trying times.
Jake sent this shot of the lower Mountain with Lower Primrose Path looking exquisite.

I was just drooling over these shots, and will look at them all Summer long. I hope all of you out there around the World are doing well and keeping on. I’ll keep posting as new visions and ideas come to me. I’ll be heading to the High Desert for the time being to continue the process during these days. Straight Ahead!!

NO FOOLIN’

4-01-20

Still deep in The Twilight Zone and the world is quiet wall to wall. Up on the hill, the last cycle has drawn The Faithful to the back country, to get the amazing goodness that has been piling up. My forecast of an average snow total capped off just the other day, with the help of fellow visualizers that kept the overhead face shots in MIND. Here are shots that Flyin’ Brian Beck sent of a couple of his tours.

Steve Mayer digging in deep into a turn of perfect light density Essence.
FLyin’ Brian holding the line and getting the juice out of each turn.
Savannah Beck following in her Dad’s footsteps as she dials in a fresh line in the back country.

The Winter snow is still piling up, but with that accumulation comes the real chance of avalanche. There have been over 40 human triggered slides in the past stretch of time since things ground to a halt. This should be kept fully in mind when accessing the goods. A word to the wise is sufficient.

A COSMIC sky during a COSMIC time that showed up last night. Signs in the sky.

Thanks to all the great folks who keep the Bird turning everyday during the season and make it such a special place. Thanks also to all the folks who read my posts and those I get to meet during my time on the hill. All are held in my mind’s eye as I look back on the truncated season. Be safe, be well, SPEED SAFELY!!

SPRING SPRINGING

3-25-20

Amid the Twilight Zone times that have put time on hold, and changed the warp and woof of life, Nature continues as if nothing at all is going on.

Beautiful blooms reaching for the Sun way before the usual time. They make the appearance just in time for a spiritual lift as we take in these times.

Up on the hill, all is quiet and the pack is getting amazingly smooth, and there has been some significant accumulation, with more on the way. The Faithful are finding the AT touring wide open outside of the ski area, with Superior well worked over and ALTA worked over as well.

Pushing up from a Winter’s slumber this beauty is luxuriating in the brief rays of Sun.

Here at The Trailer, I have been listening to the rain on the skin patter and roar now and again as these storms move in adding more to the snow pack. The season total is just shy of 500″ and I expect tonight to push it up and over the mark. I was doing some faceshot visualizations with Putney before all this went down, and, as I told him, you better watch out what you wish for, and we got it in spades with these continued impulses. I will be talking to the horses in the corral about all my wild eyed ideas, knowing that they will just listen and nod. As it should be, they are wise. I’ll try and get some up to date shots of the hill when I can get out and about. Shine on you crazy Diamonds!!!!

INTERESTING TIMES

3-15-20

An old adage is that you live in interesting times. It seems that we have entered seriously interesting times indeed.

The echos of The Faithful are still reverberating in the halls.

I will be posting as the current momentum becomes more clearly known. No Fear, Eyes Open, Straight Ahead!!

BIG WIND

3-14-20

There was big wind and clouds scraping the peak with light snow falling all day. The visibility was, no doubt, interesting. I took the day off as usual, and, when looking up at the hill, I was glad that I was not there today. Here is a shot I took the other day as the weather was driving up the clouds into a frenzy.

The sky was dynamic this day, and I saw this cloud pealing off. I tried to get my camera out as fast as I could, however, it was much more surfy looking seconds before.

Tomorrow, look for a partly Sunny day with winds continuing to blow out of the South. I will be looking for some wind smoothing, and, of course, you can count on the Groomers to provide that big mountain smooth on those big pitches. Stay Frosty!!

FLAT LIGHT

3-13-20

While the visibility was quite good this morning, there was at least a foot of flat light on the Dance Floor for today’s festivities. There was a stiff wind blowing and the temps were cool, so I put on some extra layers to ride the chairs. Mineral Basin was offering some very nice machine worked lines that were consistent and smooth, which was important with Zero detail on the surface. I took advantage of the low traffic to look around for some smooth lines off trail, but there was little to find, however, the High North is still holding the cold and was very workable. Here is a wild shot of the Sun trying to punch through the cloud deck.

A Cosmic sky for a Cosmic day and a sure sign of big things to come.

Tomorrow, look for similar conditions to today’s offerings with more overcast. The Groomers will be offering the smooth consistent lines on all sides of the hill, and with no heat on the hill, the machine worked lines will be a bit more dialable on those South facing aspects. I’ll be taking the day off tomorrow, so enjoy the day and I’ll see you Sunday. Syrup Won’t Stop ‘ EM!!!
