It was quite warm on the peak this morning to start things off, and I left my hat in the locker and drove with the top down. Mineral Basin was calling because the goods were not going to last long back there, and White Diamonds had been worked nicely, offering smooth dry chalk with the Lower Silver Dipper section worked to top it all off. On the front side of the hill, Regulator needed till 1:00PM to soften, but the Peruvian side offered the Primrose Trifecta, which made that line the section to work while the other exposures softened up a bit. The Peruvian Chair is super fast when you are working that line that takes off the top of the chair, eliminating the wait for the Tram. Fast laps are really fun when the traffic is low and the snow is great. Tomorrow, look for a very crispy morning as all the aspects, with the exception of the High North, got saturated by the warmth, so you can expect a very firm start to the day. I am sure tenderizing efforts will be available to get a bit of tooth to the ride. A delayed start may be the call, but Mineral Basin will be cooking early and I think you can find some nice sliding out there for the first couple of hours. The rest of the hill will soften in it’s time, so follow the Sun and get the soft corn goodness. The Hill is fat and well covered, but watch those off trail sections before they thaw out. Here is a shot of the machine work on the Upper Primrose Path section which is the first section of the Big Smooth Trifecta. It is so good it is just worth the time to dial it in. See you dark and early. IBBY!!
