With warm temps., bright Sun and smooth machine worked lines, it felt a lot like Spring. The Mineral Basin Chair is still down with mechanical issues, so the crowd was working the front side of the hill. The machine worked lines were crispy indeed, but the Grooming Crew prepared very nice consistent carpets that let you dial in you inner Ligety. The ski area boundary opened, which offered a great opportunity to get out and way and sample some of the soft snow still holding up in the shaded North facing aspects.

The Jazz Man gaining the ridge with the Birthday Chutes in the backgound. His adventurous spirit delivers him to some epic lines.

The Jazz Man wins the Bonus Round with these soft cold turns in No Name Bowl and perfectly smooth surfaces. Tomorrow, look for more Spring like temps and excellent coverage. The machine worked lines will be offering great ground pounding fun top to bottom. I expect brisk traffic once again, but you can find wide open sections on the hill and you will find lulls in the traffic on the hill, where you can dial in your own vacant line. There is a lot of weather gathering for the coming week, so get a good look at the hill and get the lay of the lines as there are some impressive interference patterns that have built in since the last blast.
