STORM WARNINGS

1-05-23 by dave

The wind was howling this morning as I left The Trailer, signaling the approach of another storm on the door step. The Tram was down with the high winds, but the chairs were loading on time for The Faithful who were in attendance for the day. I took refuge in The Forklift Restaurant to assess the options. The groomers had been prepared and were offering smooth lines, with plenty of fallen pine needles in the mat to provide good reference to the ground features. The carving was easy on the smooth mats and that made for fast top to bottom laps.

A mystical look into Mineral Basin yesterday. I was waiting for one of those rare Sun Lighting Effects.

Snow began falling later in the day and the wind continued as the impulse moved in. Tomorrow, look for accumulation to have been delivered overnight with continued accumulation during the day. With the wind that was pumping today, I expect many of the favored aspects to have been smoothed with the transported snow. With those smoothing features, I think there will be some very nice turning in the AM. Expect a storm day and dress for the conditions. The flow continues, and the hill just keeps getting better and better. Straight Ahead!!!
