HAPPY NEW YEAR

1-01-26 by dave

It was a fairly grim morning, with rain in the parking lot and very difficult visibility to start the day. Up high a few inches of quite dense Essence had fallen, making for some silky feeling sections that were velvet like underfoot. The snow turned to rain on the lower third of the hill, and it took some kind of special wax to keep the skis from sticking. Traffic was moderate and quite light during the first hour as last night revelers were late getting up the hill. Still, it is great to be entering this cycle that is lined up for us this coming week. Spackle is good to cover over those spots that need some serious cushion.

This is a shot I took yesterday as I was soaking up Telluic Energy that pulses out of Hidden Peak. When I am in the right spot, my hair stands on end and my finger tips tingle. Here,The Lewis and Clark area waits on our arrival there when conditions allow. Can’t wait.

It is raining here at The Trailer and a constant patter of the drops signal more accumulation up on the hill. Tomorrow, look for colder temps with snow to the bottom. Anticipate some crusty and slick areas under the new product as that rain will have caused a lens to form. I will be expecting some widespread variations underfoot. I will be looking a bit outside the main lines to get a feel for the off trail quality, but will be sticking to the gut sections that are sure to have the cover. Stay Frosty!!
