BRIGHT BLUE

4-24-26 by dave

The storm system moved off leaving a bright blue day with cold morning temps, technicolor visibility, fresh dusting, and light traffic. Mineral Basin was offering the prepared lines that were feeling good underfoot for those long runs with fast turnarounds. The front of the hill had nicely prepared lines that were vacant for the morning session. Nice to have the fresh accumulation to give the hill a bright white shine.

Tonight is Craig Gordon’s retirement after 25 years of service with The Utah Avalanche Center, here on the peak on his traditional celebratory wedding anniversary. It is always a joy to see them both on the peak. Thanks for all your hard work bringing the information so many need to access the back country safely.

Tomorrow, look for some more clouds to be in the forecast ahead of the next system that is slated to move in later in the weekend. Take note of the times of operations going into next week, so check the Bird site for the updates. More snow is in the forecast. Time flies when you are having Fun!!!
