SOCKED IN

There was a skiff of fresh snow on the pack as the storm clouds hung low on the peaks. The visibility was difficult as the clouds were socked in and holding tight to the upper elevations. The pack was quite firm and staying with the known smooth lines was key in such a cloudy situation. With the cold temps the past couple of days, the melt off had backed off a bit, so the lines that had been thinning out were holding tough and any additional accumulation will be a big help for this coming weekend.

Light dusting and a brief break in the clouds make for a heavenly scene on the peak with the tables and benches offering some sculptural relief!!

Tomorrow, look for cold temps to continue, though the Sun will be happening as the weather is moving off briefly before the next impulse moves in this weekend. Once again, the prepared lines are offering the best consistency, but some of those smooth sections out of the traffic patterns may be offering some variety if one is so inclined. Traffic should be quite light again and visibility will be much improved. Use care on the last bit of elevation on the hill. Watch your Six!!
