It was cold on the peak, but the Sun was shining high in the sky. Mineral Basin was offering some machine prepared lines that got the Sun first. The Front side of the hill had been given some really excellent smoothing that was the most consistent quality I’ve seen as the snow begins to morph. Traffic was super light and back to back Trams were easy to make, though care needed to be taken at certain lower sections on the hill. Softening really kicked in around 11:30AM as the Sun started warming up the pack nicely. It is a short window but so worth the wait.

Tomorrow, look for a storm day as a fast moving front is on the doorstep. Look for the machine prepared lines for the best consistency, dress for weather, and stay close to the trees for reference. Traffic will be light, and check the Bird site for lift access if the wind kicks up big before the front arrives. Stay Frosty!!
